With the problem of asbestos being found in buildings still creating major headaches for homeowners, builders and developers, there has to be some form of controlling the way asbestos is handled in any buildings. Generally this will lead to a formal action plan being prepared. Firstly of course, it is necessary to confirm whether ACMs (asbestos containing materials) are even present. A specialised survey will be made and if as feared, CSMs are found within a pre 2000 built property, an asbestos management plan will need to be completde in compliance with the HSE control of asbestos regularions 2012. To be noted, this plan is not just a one off event – it is something that needs to be managed monitors and maitained throughout the time ACMs are present within the building. The requirement for such an asbestos management plan is to make it simple, keep it centrally located and clearly detailing various essential elements of information.
