I was out and about on a favour for someone the other day. Driving over to Cambridge – it was a beautiful day and it all seemed very calm and almost tranquil as I parked up in the park and ride to catch the bus into the city. What did strike me was the lack of new housing evident on the outskirts of the city – the route I was on did not have the big new developments that are coming on stream. These must be over another part of that county. What I did see were stunningly beautiful apartments – thousands of them. Every single road has blocks fo various shapes, sizes and desigs. Some are refurbished old buildings – with the original names on them. Even near the niversity and hospital, the necessary blocks of flats are all strikingly good looking and popular. So different from many other city dwelling.
